Healing and
Pain, August 13-14*
Through penetrating pain, we have the chance to open experience,
cleansing appearance of the residues of ordinary awareness. We open the eyes to
space and light, open the mind to silence, and open awareness to intimacy.
Tarthang Tulku, Dynamics of Time
and Space.
No
matter who we are or what we do, we experience physical and mental pain. This
workshop offers four introspective exercises that provide important tools for
alleviating pain. The first exercise uses creative imagination to shift our
relationship to pain. The second helps us bypass the entangling stories that
tie inner sensations to suffering. The final two exercises help us connect with
the vitality that underlies pain.
